Sarival Water Reclamation Facility

Goodyear, AZ

The new facility will assist Liberty in providing additional reclaimed water for important uses, such as irrigation, which will offset and conserve millions of gallons of potable water for human consumption and domestic purposes.”

Nathan Owen, President, PERC Water Corporation

In 2022, Liberty Utilities (Liberty) partnered with PERC Water to design and build the new Sarival Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) in Goodyear, Ariz. The Sarival WRF was designed to treat an average day flow capacity of 4.0 Million Gallon per Day (MGD) and utilizes a membrane bio-reactor (MBR) treatment process to meet Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Title 18 Class A+ requirements for unrestricted reuse.

The new facility addresses increasing demand in Liberty’s Goodyear and
Litchfield Park service territories, both of which cities have experienced significant residential and commercial growth over the past decade. High quality effluent produced by the Sarival WRF will offset community potable water demand for recreational uses such as park and landscape irrigation, artificial lakes or other water features and more.

Design of the Sarival WRF kicked off in January 2022 while construction began concurrently in July 2022, prior to completion of final design documents. Thanks in part to a decades long partnership between project team members, fast track target completion was achieved in January 2024.
