PERC Water has served as the Design-Build-Operate entity of two water recycling facilities in the Town of Buckeye, Arizona and has entered into a total of nine separate Design-Build-Operate contracts for facilities in Maricopa, Arizona. PERC Water provided Design-Build-Operate services for a water recycling facility servicing the Tartesso residential planned community in Buckeye, Arizona.
Phase 1 was completed in July 2006 and has 1.2 MGD of capacity, supporting approximately 4,800 homes. Future phases will ultimately expand capacity to 9.2 MGD, which will service approximately 36,800 homes. The Tartesso facility will provide the valuable resource of A+ effluent to maintain the various parks and trails planned in the open space of the new development.
According to U.S. Census estimates, Arizona is the fastest-growing state in the nation. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that the state be equipped with the necessary infrastructure to accommodate its growing population and to allow for future expansion. In the Tartesso Conceptual Design Report, PERC Water provided a Phasing Study which showed the facility’s flexibility, allowing for various size modular expansions. The flexibility is unique to the PERC ASP® Design and allows our clients to adjust future expansions to maximize and minimize the capital required in constructing and operating future expansions and capacity.
